Central London Route Changes
From 15th June 2019
Route 3
Route withdrawn between Piccadilly Circus and Whitehall
(Horseguards Parade).
Route 4
Rerouted after New Change to run instead to Blackfriars
Station via Queen Elizabeth Street. Replaces route 388 along this
stretch.Service between New Change and Waterloo Station
withdrawn. The rerouted 76 will provide a replacement service
between St Paul's Station and Waterloo (different terminating
arrangements at Waterloo). Route 26 provides an alternative
service along this section (no common interchange stop). Routes
11 and 15 also provide a service between Mansion House and
Aldwych (no common interchange stop).
Route 9/N9
Rerouted via Piccadilly Circs and the full length of
Piccadilly instead of the full length of Pall Mall. Pall Mall
left unserved.
Route 14
Withdrawn between Tottenham Court Road Station and Warren
Street Station and diverted instead to Russell Square. Buses will
operate via Great Russell Street and Montague Road (towards
Russell Square) or Bedford Place (towards Putmey Heath). Routes
24 and 29 will continue to run via Tottenham Court Road.
Route 40
Rerouted at Elephant & Castle to operate to Clerkenwell
Green via the current route 63 instead of running to Aldgate
Station. New section will partially replace route 45. Fenchurch
Street will no longer be served by a bus route. Routes 35 and 133
provide a replacement service between Elephant & Castle and
Monument. Route 344 provides a replacement between Elephant &
Castle and London Bridge. Route 344 will run to Aldgate but via a
different route. Certain links will be lost.
Route 45
Withdrawn between King's Cross and Elephant & Castle.
Routes 45 and 63 provide a replacement between Farringdon
Street/Charterhouse Street. Route 63 provides a replacement
between King's Cross and Elephant & Castle (via a different
route). Route 46 provides a replacement between King's Cross and
Holborm Circus. Certain links will be lost.
Route 53
Day service withdrawn between Whitehall and Lambeth North
(Westminster Bridge Road). Night service will continue to run
between Whitehall and Plumstead Station but will be renumbered
N53. Routes 12 and 453 will continue to provide a service between
Lambeth North and Whitehall.
Route 59
Withdrawn between King's Cross and Euston Station. Route 91
continues to link King's Cross, Euton, Holborn and Aldwych.
Routes 30 and 73 continue to link King's Cross and Euston.
Route 67
Withdrawn between Dalston Junction and Aldgate Station. Route
242 (day service) will be rerouted to operate to Aldgate instead
of St Paul's. Route 149 will continue to provide a service
between Stamford Hill, Stoke Newington, Dalston and Shoreditch.
Route 76
Rerouted between Moorgate and St Paul's Churchyard via London
Wall, Museum of London, St Paul's Station and New Change instead
of via Bank. Routes 21 and 43 will continue to provide a service
between Old Street, Moorgate and Bank. Some links will be lost.
Route 100
Extended from Museum of London to St Paul's Station.
Route 134
Withdrawn between Warren Street Station and Tottenham Court
Road Station. Routes 24 and 29/N29 will continue to link Camden
Town, Warren Street and Tottenham Court Road Station.
Route 171
Route withdrawn between Holborn and Waterloo. Routes 59, 168
and 243 continue to link Holborn and Waterloo. Route 521 also
serveds Holborn and Waterloo (does not serve Aldwych northbound).
Routes 26/N26, 76, 172, 341 also serve Aldwych and Waterloo.
Route 172
Route withdrawn between Clarkenwell Green and Aldwych. A
rerouted 341 will replace the route between Clerkenwell Green and
Aldwych and continuing onto Waterloo. Routes 11, 15/N15, 26/N26
also operate between Ludgate Circus and Aldwych.
Route 205/N205
Will operate directly along Euston Road instead of stopping
outside Marylebone Station.
Route 242
Day service rerouted at Shoreditch High Street Station to
operate to Aldwych via Commercial Street instead of to St Paul's
Station. New section will replae route 67. Night service
continues to run Homerton Hospital to St Paul's and continues on
to Tottenham Court Road Station, running via Route N8. The night
service will be renumbered N242.
Route 341
Rerouted between Rosebury Avenue/Farringdon Road and Fetter
Lane/Fleet Street via Farringdon Road, Farringdon Street, Ludgate
Circus and Fleet Street instead of southern end of Rosebury
Avenue, Gray's Inn Road, Holborn Circus, New Fetter Lane and
Fetter Lane. New section will replace route 172. New Fetter Lane
and Fetter Lane will no longer be served by bus. Certain links
will be lost.
Route 343
Route extended from City Hall to Aldgate Station via Tower
Bridge, Tower Gateway and Minories. New section of route will
partially replace route RV1 between London Bridge Station and
Tower Gateway.
Route 388
Reroute withdrawn between Liverpool Street Station and
Elephant & Castle. Route 100 provides a service along London
Wall and on to St Pauil's Station (no common first or last stop
with route 388). Route 76 provides a service between Moorgate and
New Change. Route 4 provides a service between Museum of London
and Blackfriars Staion. Routes 40 and 63 provide a service
between Blackfriars Station and Elephant & Castle. Certain
links will be lost.
Route 468
Revised a Elephant & Castle to terminate in Newington
Causeway. Buses will still begin from London Road.
Route 476
Route withdrawn between King's Cross Station and Euston. At
King's Crossm buses will terminate in York Street and start from
Wharfdale Road and Caledonian Road to Pentonville Road. Route 73
provides a replacement service running parallel with route 476
between Stoke Newington and King's Cross and then onto Euston.
Routes 30 and 205 also provide a replacement service between
Angel and Euston.
Route RV1
Route withdrawn. An extended route 343 will partially replace the route between London Bridge Station and Tower Gateway. Route 381 provides a replacement between London Bridge and Waterloo (operates via a different route). Upper Ground (for South Bank) and Catherine Street in Covent Garden will no longer have a bus service. Certain links will be lost.
