Cashless Zone

From 24th August 2003, a
Cashless Zone was introduced within Central London. This
generally boarders, Paddington, King's Cross, Waterloo
and Victoria. Within this zone, you will need to buy your
ticket before boarding your bus. Tickets can be brought
from Ticket Machines that are fitted by each bus stop.
Tickets brought from the machine must be used within 1
hour of it being brought. When
boarding your bus * you must show the driver your ticket.
*On crew operated routes, you may still
pay the conductor your fare or show them your prepaid
ticket. On Bendy Buses you must buy your ticket before
boarding throughout the route.
How to Recognise the Cashless Zone
On this site, the relevant page in the Places Index
section states if the place is within the Cashless Zone.
Within the zone, every bus stop has the route number
plates shown in yellow with a further section at the
bottom stating tickets must be brought in advance.
